BUSY!

This week is crazy!

WAAAH!

» Posted by Jody   » Posted on 11 | 23 | 2008   » 4 Comments

Notice that you will expect a weekly update about the dreamhouse.  I just can’t help it because I’m overly excited to see the progress.  In fact, Dicky and I would often go to the site twice a week just to check it.  Last saturday, we were there again.  And we are just happy to see more posts all around.  Then we had few discussion with the contractor for some changes in the architectural plans that we have.   We realized that’s how it is usually, there would be changes along the way, like we are expanding the area of the carports, since we want that the two vehicles wont be too close to each other when parked.  Next week, we are hoping to see more progress.

I wish I have the same list like the one above but Monday is terribly busy. I hope everyone had a good weekend to start off the week right.  Apparently, it is just about a month before christmas and I’m sure everyone is already busy.  Malls are extremely chaotic these days with all the christmas shopping.  I actually just started last weekend.  I still have a long list and I wish I can finish everything at least by 2nd week of December.    Today, my list goes like this:

1.  Answer all pending emails

2.  Meet with a corporate account for christmas party update

3.  Contact agency for models

4.  Set other meetings for the week, new clients and suppliers meeting.

5.  Occular the venue for the corporate account christmas party

6.  Follow up Powerplant Cinema’s contract for the blocking of cinema for an event on January.

7.  Do some assignments.

8.  Prepare all documents for wedding this friday.

9.  Follow up all suppliers for wedding this friday.

10.  Arrange mess in the workstation

A long list huh?  I hope to finish everything before the day ends.

Hope everyone will have a great monday and week ahead!

I will officially start christmas shopping for this weekend. I have prepared the list and I’m going to look around in the mall today on what to buy for the godsons/goddaughters. I have yet to do the shopping for the aunts and uncles next week. I still don’t know what to get them actually. I saw some small electronics for the uncles especially. I wonder if they would like the GPS available from a handyman store.  I am also checking some items for the husband in the mall.  I asked him last night what he wants to get for christmas.  So corny, he said nothing!   Can that be possible?  I have some things in mind.  I just need to work around my budget.  The husband deserves something “big” this christmas since he has really been “good” to me and the kids.  He said that our “real” christmas would be after March, which is the target completion of the house.  Well, the contruction is really a “big” family christmas gift for all of us.  The purchase of the lot last year was our christmas gift.  Isn’t a big progress?

Ok, time to get ready to hit the mall!

Yesterday was Margaux’s Choral Recitation in school.  It took us almost 2 weeks to memorize the poem below about the Falling Star.  Too bad, some parents were not allowed to go inside to watch our kids, only the homeroom representatives of each glass.  Hmp!  Next year, I should really volunteer myself to become the homeroom representative, hehehe.  That’s one of the perks, you know.  Apparently, even if I was giving a hint to the teacher, we weren’t allowed.  I just ended up working on my laptop in a nearby coffee shop while waiting for their dismissal. After the class, the teacher just handed me a picture from the choral recitation. (sorry for the blur, I just scanned it!)

In keeping with traditions, we went last saturday in the site to throw some coins on each post foundation. It is a symbolism of goodluck as they say. I really hope luck would always be on our side. Or let’s just say, blessings from above would be better. Isn’t it obvious that we are overly excited? Sorry, can’t help it!

You Are In a Good Mood

Today, you’re feeling pretty together and happy. While not everything is going you’re way, you’re keeping things in perspective.

And it seems like things are looking up for you!

As this test says, I’m in a pretty good mood today.  Well, I am trying to since it’s a Monday and I want to start things right for the entire week,  Although, I cannot concentrate on work because just thinking of my list makes me crazy already.  Peak months has started and it has gotten into my system nowadays.  Not a day passes without a meeting.  I’m all over the place.  I’m expecting it would be more chaotic in the coming weeks with clients based overseas starting to come for the December weddings.  Don’t get me wrong, I am not complaining.  The job is just so overwhelming.  And with all things I need to accomplish for work plus personal stuff like christmas shopping, preparing for the dreamhouse, makes me think if I’m on the right job?  But yes, I do believe that I am in the right working environment.  I still wouldn’t trade it with anything else even those great jobs available online like those jobs in Austin, which I saw recently. Who wouldn’t want to be part of the successful events of other people’s lives? The job is tremendous but it is also very rewarding when clients are thankful of what we did. It is indeed a great job.

It was all fun during the party.  There were games for the kids like the favorite, Bring Me, Pass the Ball as well as the egg hunt game.  The adults were also asked to participate.  Dicky and I headed our respective teams…

Here are the fun pictures from the games of the kids…

And its the adults turn for the SOS game (this was riot!)

And so as the arrange yourself game…

Of course, the pinata was a hit to the kids and even the adults!

Here are more pictures of the birthday girl. She was very happy during the entire party. Good thing she was able to sleep before we left the house. By the way, I bought her clothes from Periwinkle in Shang Mall. I just love the color.

She adores Dora the Explorer a lot!

She almost wants to bring home Dora! (lol!)

The pictures from Howell are already here. I love the photos! As in super love! Thanks Howell! From the pictures, we can see how happy the guests during the party. We are so happy also that most of our friends and family were able to make it to the party. I only exceeded 6pax based on my reservation for 100pax. I was kinda anxious during the party if the lootbags I prepared for the kids would be enough as I only had 50pcs made so I was asking the maids to count all the kids to ensure that everyone would be able to get something. In previous parties, (if you have read before), we had 90+ kids during Margaux’s and Bianca’s 1st Birthday Parties. Well, we have limit our guestlist this time. But good thing, I still made the right estimate.

We started the party late since most of the guests were stranded due to heavy rains. We were in Shakey’s before 3pm so good thing we weren’t caught in the flash flood along Katipunan Avenue. Despite that fact that we started late, all the kids had a blast.

I was very happy with my suppliers as well.
1. Shakey’s Katipunan (love the food– bunch of lunch and we ordered 1 big giant pizza, which was a hit to the guests)
2. Adworks – for the invitations. I have always been a “suki.”
3. Melisse – for the tarpaulin and printing. Thanks girl!
4. Yanple – for the balloon decors, Dora Mascot and glitter tattoo artist. I’m happy with the balloons. Thanks Apple for accommodating all my requests and my last-minute bilins.
5. Quintbelles – for the 2-layer cake. Thanks again Elaine. It was a beautiful cake.
6. Sheila from 168 Mall – 2nd time to order from her. I’m good with what she delivered.
7. URC company store – thanks to the husband’s discount, all items inside the lootbags came from URC (universal robina corporation)
8. Divisoria Mall – of course, for the prizes and other goodies for the party.
9. Frostings – the super yummy cupcakes, which apprently, I forgot to distribute during the party. It was all at the bottom of the table and I just realized when we were packing all the stuff already. We were able to give to some guests who were still there anyway.
10. Howell – for photo coverage. I am very happy with the output. I love all the shots. As in I can make stories out of the photos.
11. Juana in 168 mall – for my fabulous outfit! lol! This is my fab find at a super great price! Please tell me I don’t need those fat burners when you see me in the pictures.

Here are some pictures from Howell. I’m still downloading some and I still want to make more stories about the party…

will rise the dreamhouse…

We went to check it out last saturday afternoon. A week has passed for the workers to just clear the lot and to start putting the posts. It is just the start, but we are just so proud of the progress.

will be a busy one.

Saturday, we will attend Sam’s (of Jacqui) party.

And of course on Sunday will be our Bianca’s 2nd Birthday Celebration in Shakey’s Katipunan.

This backdrop done by Melisse.

I have prepared everything for the party and I am really hoping I am not missing anything. Even the clothes/dress of the kids are already prepared so as my outfit for the party! The only thing that I missed is having a crash diet so I would look good on that dress! I never got the chance to hop on the air climber or even on the elliptical so please do not laugh when you see the party pictures next week.  And don’t dare to ask if I’m pregnant ok?  I’m NOT!  Period.  (bwahaha!)

yesterday was a good one.

She enjoyed playing with the kids of the Cribs Foundation. Stories and pictures here.

After her simple party, we went to Fun Ranch in Tiendesitas. The ultimate favorite of my two kids. Good thing we are just very near the place so it has always been easy to go. And since it was a weekday, very few kids were there, reason why they had so much fun. Look at the pictures how they had a blast…

My heart is always smiling to see them always play together…

We had the final meeting yesterday with the contractor and the interior designer. What’s good about them is that they are a husband and wife team so right after the structural design has been made by the architect, the interior designer work her way to show us designs on how it would look like with home furnishing around. We are getting excited everyday. The interior designer showed us yesterday the perspective of the living room and the kitchen! Both are awesome. I’m also excited to see the perspective of the master’s bedroom with my requirement for a walk-in closet. We were also discussing about my office furniture to be placed on the room on the ground floor. This is our one major project for the family, so it means we must doubly work hard and save more!
